There are times when there is only one plug point in the place, and you have to charge both your phone and laptop. Here is the solution to change your settings so that the gadgets would get charged even if the laptop goes into sleep mode. Let us know it all about the electronic gadgets catalog.
Electronic Gadgets Catalog – Through Device Manager
Step 1: Firstly go to the device manager of your laptop. You can go to device manager by searching for it in the search box, or you can also find it in the start menu. Or you can first open the Run box, by typing “Devmgmt.msc” and pressing the enter button.
Step 2: After you have opened the device manager, open the Universal Serial Bus controller option, which would display all the USB cables connected to it.
Step 3: There you would find an option USB Root Hub. You have to select and then right click on the mouse or the touchpad of the laptop. A box with more options would pop out and you will have to choose the properties option.
Step 4: You would find the Power Management tab along with many other tabs, you have to choose that tab. And there you would see two options, out of which you will have to deselect the option that says computer should be turned off for power saving.
Step 5: After that, you have to click ok. If you wish to do this setting for many cables, then start over the steps.
Electronic Gadgets Catalog – BIOS/UEFI USB Settings
When you do not get results after following the above method, then do no worry and follow these steps. The device is not charging maybe due to the reason that the feature is disabled again by the BIOS/UEF.
Step 1: To enter BIOS/UEFI, you have to reboot your laptop and use the required keys on the keypad to open.
Step 2: You have to find the USB setting in there. On some of the think pads, you can see that the USB settings can be found in the tab named Config. If you are not able to find the options in there, then check in all the other tabs available.
Step 3: You will find an “Always on USB” option or something similar to it. You will have to enable this option, which would make your laptop get charged during the sleep mode also through the USB cable.
Step 4: In some cases, you would see “Charge in battery mode” instead of the above-mentioned option. It will charge the laptop only through its battery, if enabled.
Step 5: Save these settings by pressing F10 key as in most of the cases.
Step 6: Boot your Windows and check if this works.
With a USB cable, you can easily do that. Just connect the laptop with charger and the smartphone with the laptop via USB cable. It can be done with the other USB gadgets too. Now, here is the solution to one problem but there is another problem that you have to be aware of. All the laptops are not charged using the USB devices in sleep mode.
